Alberta, BC, Ontario. February, 2006. New Object Theatres in Development Show Communications has been contracted to work on a few new projects this winter. The list includes a small theatre in Williams Lake, a large multimedia design at the Royal Alberta Museum and a new development at Dynamic Earth in Sudbury.
San Antonio, Texas. April 1st. Aztec On the River Opens! April 1 saw the Aztec on the River Theater open, featuring "The Awakening of the Temple" lobby show and "Haunted Mechical Room" Pepper's Ghost show. Check out more details here...
Philadelphia, PA. October 2005. Migration Theater. Show Communciations has been contracted with Science North to develop a new object theater at the Philidelphia Zoo.
Boston. MA. May 2005. Star War Robots Theater Opens! October 27 saw the opening of Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination, a new travelling show from Boston Museum of Science. Workign with the Science Museum of Minnesota and MOS, Show Communications provided directing and scriptwriting services for the show's multimedia object theater, featuring C3PO and MIT's Cynthia Brezeal. Kingston. ON. March 2005. Show Communications launches website. Show Communciations is happy to finally have its website up and running. The site looks as good as it does thanks to the creative work of designer, Pam Hannah. We hope to have a lot of fun with the site, so feedback is welcome.
Sudbury. ON. March 2005. Waterworks Theatre Show Communications has been contracted by Science North to develop a theatre on water for their new travelling exhibit. We'll keep you posted as the work progresses.
St. Paul. MN January 2005. Star Wars Robots Object Theater. Show Communications has been contracted to work with the Science Museum of Minnesota on an exciting objects theater for the Boston Museum of Science. The topic is robots, and the show will involve characters from Star Wars, and real folks from MIT's Robotic Life Group. Show Communications is providing media design, scripting and direction services for this travelling show.
Sudbury. ON. August 2004. Made in Canada. Show Communications has been awarded the contract to develop a traveling object theater with Science North Enterprises on the topic of Canadian Innovation. The show will feature non other than Canada's most famous comic inventor, Red Green (Steve Smith).
San Antonio. Texas. Sept. 2004. "Aztec on the River." We have been contracted by Science North to provide direction services on a two new multimedia shows at the new Aztec on the River attraction in San Antonio TX. The first is a special effects lobby show in the main foyer of the Aztec Theater. A 6-minute extravaganza that includes a 10 foot feathered serpent rising through the floor into the lobby. The second show takes place in the original 1920’s mechanical room of the original palace theater, where the ghost of an old technician still lingers, tending the old equipment. Ottawa. ON. August 2004. Canadian Museum of Nature. Show Communications has been awarded the contract to produce 8 interactive kiosks about dinosaurs to be installed in the museum’s New Fossil Gallery. Our current phase of production involves all the video media production for the kiosks. We are happy to be working once again with the great team at the Museum. Show Communications is also working with Science North and the CMN team on the new "Extinction" Multimedia Theatre which will open at the same time.
